A herniated disc refers to a problem with one of the discs (rubbery like cushion), that sits between the bones that stack to make the spine. These bones are called the vertebrae. The herniated or bulged disc may place pressure on the associated spinal nerve that can cause numbness and weakness or the arms and legs (Sciatica).
